Mock SATs – March 2017

Dear Parents

Following last week’s mock SATs, we have sent home copies of your child’s completed assessments. We have discussed the papers, in class, with the children this week. It would be greatly beneficial if you could spend some time looking through the papers, alongside your child, to discuss what they have done well and what they need to do to improve further.

The children have made some good progress since December and we are incredibly proud of their efforts. There are many successes that should be celebrated, however there is still plenty of hard work ahead. This time, we have included a detailed breakdown of the objectives/area of learning for each subject. We hope that this will clearly outline your child’s strengths and areas for development. This diagnostic tool should ensure your child is aware of their revision priorities for the coming weeks.

Your pack includes the following;

Maths arithmetic paper 1

Maths reasoning paper 2

Maths reasoning paper 3

Reading paper

SPAG paper 1

SPAG paper 2

Data breakdown

You can find the mark schemes and the information about standardised scores below. If you have any further questions about the assessments, please comment on the blog or email your child’s class teacher directly.

Thank you for your continued support

Revision guides

Dear parents

I have attached a link to the revision guides that are available to purchase directly through the school. As you can see, there is a significant discount when purchasing your books via OMS as opposed to directly from the distributor. We have selected Collins instead of the CGP for the revision guides this year as we feel they are more in line with the children’s needs and represent better value for money.

FoOMS are also selling a selection of SPAG revision cards (details were sent out in a separate letter). Some parents have asked to see what the cards look like. I have attached a photo but there is a pack in reception for you to view should you wish to see them before ordering.
