Pupil Premium Funding and Changes to Free School Meals from September 2026
At Olney Middle School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the support they need to thrive. One way we receive additional funding is through the Pupil Premium Grant, which is provided by the government.
Changes to Free School Meals from September 2026
- Targeted FSM: pupils in households receiving Universal Credit with earnings of £7,400 or less.
- Expanded FSM: pupils in households receiving Universal Credit above this earnings threshold.
To qualify for FSM (and therefore Pupil Premium), families must be in receipt of one of the following:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with a combined annual income below £16,190 and not receiving Working Tax Credit)
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after stopping qualifying)
- Universal Credit (with annual net earnings below £7,400)
- National Asylum Seekers Support (NASS)
- Guaranteed Element of Pension Credit
Please note: Families receiving Working Tax Credit (except run-on) do not qualify for FSM.
